A Community where everyone belongs

Building strong relationships between students, families, and staff through shared values, collaboration, and school spirit.

Life at Thames British School is vibrant, enriching, and deeply community-focused. We are proud of our warm international environment, where students from more than 30 nationalities learn, grow, and thrive together.

At Thames, pupils are encouraged to discover their strengths, embrace new challenges, and enjoy every stage of their educational journey. Our daily school life combines academic excellence with creativity, sport, wellbeing, and community engagement, helping students develop resilience, confidence, independence, and friendships that last a lifetime.

A strong sense of belonging.

Community is at the heart of life at Thames. Our House System plays a central role in creating this sense of belonging and connection. Every Secondary student becomes part of one of our four Houses, North, South, East, or West, each representing a core school value.

The House System encourages teamwork, leadership, healthy competition, and collaboration, while also providing an additional layer of pastoral support and student wellbeing.

Performing Arts & Creativity.

We believe creativity is an essential part of a balanced education.

Through Drama, Music, Dance, and the Performing Arts, students develop imagination, confidence, communication skills, and self-expression. Throughout the year, pupils participate in performances, productions, concerts, and creative projects that showcase their talents and foster confidence on and off the stage.

Our spacious Assembly Hall hosts annual productions and performances where students proudly share their achievements with the wider school community.

Sport & physical wellbeing

Sport is an integral part of life at Thames British School. Our aim is to inspire a lifelong love of physical activity while promoting teamwork, resilience, confidence, and healthy lifestyles.

From Early Years onwards, pupils benefit from specialist sports lessons tailored to all abilities. Alongside core sports such as football, athletics, and running, students also enjoy opportunities in basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and many more activities.

In Secondary School, Physical Education becomes an important part of student development, with many pupils choosing PE as part of their IGCSE studies.

Character education & social responsibility

At Thames British School, we believe education extends beyond academics.

Through volunteering initiatives, fundraising campaigns, charity events, and community projects, students develop empathy, leadership, and a strong sense of social responsibility. We encourage pupils to become compassionate and globally minded young people who understand the importance of making a positive impact on the world around them.

Healthy meals & wellbeing

We believe mealtimes are an important part of the school day, an opportunity to enjoy nutritious food while strengthening our sense of community.

Our professional in-house catering team, Saned, prepares a wide variety of fresh and balanced meals and snacks each day using high-quality, responsibly sourced ingredients. Seasonal menus are updated regularly, allowing students and staff to enjoy diverse flavours and cuisines throughout the year.

Convenient location & school transport

Thames British School is conveniently located in Majadahonda, Madrid, with excellent access from across the city.

To support families, we offer a reliable school transport service for students from Early Years onwards, including morning drop-off and afternoon collection. Our bus routes cover multiple areas across Madrid, ensuring students enjoy a safe, comfortable, and convenient journey to and from school every day.
