NABSS – NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH SCHOOLS IN SPAIN
Thames British School Madrid is officially a member of NABSS, the prestigious association of British Schools in Spain.
The British Council has been the official British representative for British education in Spain since 1940. One of its many functions is the certification of British schools in Spain for the Spanish Education Authorities. The British Embassy has delegated this authority to the British Council in Spain. Only schools which have successfully passed an inspection by an authorised inspectorate will be accredited, as happened with Thames British School.
SPANISH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
The Spanish Department is subject to the Spanish Education Inspection Act and our curriculum complies with the LOE (Ley Orgánica de Educación).
Our students study lengua y cultura española from Primary to Year 11, providing additional help in Spanish language to those students who need it in small groups.
The assessment of these subjects is carried out in accordance with the same rules as those applicable to the rest of the subjects studied at the school and the results are recorded in the corresponding academic certificate.
We are a collaborating entity with UNEDasiss, the UNED service created to manage the access and admission of students to Spanish universities.
