At Thames School, we are excited to announce the launch of our very own currency—Thollars! Spearheaded by our innovative Business and Economics teacher, Ms. Ibañez, this initiative aims to create an engaging and practical learning environment for our students.
What are Thollars?
Thollars are a unique form of currency that students can earn through various activities that promote academic excellence and positive behavior. Whether it’s completing homework on time, participating actively in class discussions, improving grades, delivering impressive presentations, or demonstrating good behavior, students will have multiple opportunities to earn Thollars throughout the school year.
Why Thollars?
The primary goal of introducing Thollars is to motivate students and provide them with hands-on experience in managing finances. By earning and spending Thollars, students will gain valuable insights into money management, investment strategies, and the importance of personal responsibility. This real-world approach to financial literacy will prepare our students for future challenges both in and outside the classroom.
A Thriving Economy
In addition to earning Thollars, students will have the exciting opportunity to participate in our stock exchange. This platform will allow students to invest their Thollars, simulating a real-world economic environment where they can learn about market dynamics, trading, and investment strategies. By engaging in this practical exercise, students will not only understand the value of their earnings but also the intricacies of economic systems.
How It Works
- Earning Thollars: Students can earn Thollars through various achievements in academics and These could include:
